Recommendations for a great session

For headshots and portraits I suggest staying away from clothing with busy patterns, stripes or dots, as they cause image moiré that can look nasty in final images.

What is Moiré?
Moiré occurs when a piece of clothing or object being photographed contains repetitive details (such as strips, dots, etc.) that affects the camera sensor resolution. As a result, the camera produces strange-looking patterns similar to the image below.

To avoid Moiré, I suggest using solid color tones that will enhance the final images. Below are some color tone suggestions.

Headshot or Portrait Preparation Checklist

Iron clothing for your session
Follow color suggestions, no patterns, stripes or dots,
Trim unwanted facial hairs (nose, ears)
Make sure hair is neat and brushed
